Meet Chantel Bratcher, LPCMH/CAADC

Founder & Lead Therapist | Shaping Minds Therapeutic Services

Welcome! I'm Chantel Bratcher-Coleman, Founder and Lead Therapist of Shaping Minds Therapeutic Services.

As a Delaware Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) with specialized training in trauma, substance use disorders, and gambling addiction, I have dedicated more than 22 years to helping individuals and families navigate life's most challenging seasons. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they discover healing, resilience, and hope.

For over a decade, I served in leadership roles within nonprofit organizations committed to expanding access to quality mental health care throughout our communities. Those experiences reinforced my belief that meaningful change happens when compassionate care, collaboration, and strong leadership come together.

Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about investing in the future of the counseling profession. As an adjunct professor, I enjoy mentoring and preparing the next generation of therapists, encouraging them to lead with both clinical excellence and genuine compassion.

People often say, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." While I understand the sentiment, I see it differently.

This work is deeply meaningful—but it is also deeply human.

Being entrusted with someone's story is an incredible privilege and responsibility. Every session reminds me that growth requires humility, lifelong learning, and a commitment to continually refining my skills so I can provide the highest quality care during some of life's most vulnerable moments. My clients inspire me just as much as I hope to inspire them.

My counseling philosophy is rooted in one simple belief:

People are not broken—they possess incredible strength, resilience, and the capacity for healing. Sometimes they simply need someone to help them recognize it.

Outside of the therapy room, I'm simply Chantel.

My family is my greatest blessing and my biggest motivation. I'm an optimist who believes in the power of positive energy, authentic relationships, and finding joy in life's little moments. You'll often find me bargain shopping, enjoying a great movie marathon, exploring new ideas, or dreaming about what's possible for the future.

While I don't believe life offers fairy-tale endings, I do believe in hope.

Hope gives us the courage to heal, to grow, and to begin again.

Interestingly, counseling wasn't my original plan. I actually spent three years studying nursing before realizing that my true calling was helping people heal emotionally as well as physically. Looking back, I don't believe I chose this profession—I believe it chose me.

I also believe that healing is never meant to happen alone.

It truly takes a village.

Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or simply searching for greater purpose and balance, it would be an honor to walk alongside you. Together, we'll create a safe, supportive space where healing can begin, strengths can be rediscovered, and lasting change can take root.

Thank you for considering Shaping Minds Therapeutic Services. I look forward to being part of your journey toward healing, growth, and hope.
